Active relaxation on Rogla
Our partners from tourism company Unitur invited us to check their offer at Rogla resort and their brand new hotel Natura. Off to Rogla we went! From the summer heat in Ljubljana to the green embrace of extensive forests at 1500 meters above sea level where the fresh mountain air cleans your lungs, body and soul.
This is the most beautiful walk on Rogla and we did it a few years ago. This time we were simply having fun with our kid in the company of cows and flowers around Hotel Natura Rogla. :)
Of course we stayed at Hotel Natura and we were amazed. It offers 16 beautifully furnished rooms, conference hall, restaurant and a children's corner. Nicely decorated interior with a lot of wood, cute fireplace in the lobby and the wonderful wellness center made the days run by even in bad weather.
Wellness center Natura has 5 different saunas, including a finish sauna with panoramic window offering the view to the green forests or white winter fairy tale. There is also an indoor and outdoor massage pool and you can also treat yourself to different massages and relaxing treatments.
The hotel offers a big football field, which is an excellent training playground for different sport teams who come here for pre-season training. In winter time the football field becomes a training ground for cross-country skiers. A perfect place where outdoor activities and hotel comfort go hand in hand.
Thumbs up to the great personnel too! Friendly, caring & attentive. Bravo!
The hotel restaurant will surely not leave you hungry. A hint: don't miss the crispy cottage cheese rolls with berries in a pan. Yummy!
Of course we weren't just lying around but also did some excercise. The weather got better, we hopped on the bikes and had some fun at Bike park Rogla. The best things about it the diversity of the trails. There is something for everyone: kids will enjoy on the push bikes, there are some easy trails for beginners and a lot of wooden ramps and jumps for advanced 'lunatics'. :) At the moment there are 7 different trails of 8 kilometers in total. The chairlift will get you from the bottom back to the top of the bike park. Bikes can also be rented there.
No words are needed. Check the photos below and you'll see all generations having fun: even the smallest one in a baby trolley. Fun for the whole family!
Apart from the bike park, Rogla offers a lot more to mountain bikers. The Pohorje hills are intertwined with numerous trails, roads, natural sights and cute mountain huts serving traditional Slovenian food. This is a 50 km biking tour we did on our last day at Rogla. It mostly runs through the forest and connects the main sights at this part of Pohorje hills: Šumik waterfall, Black Lake, the spot of the last battle of Pohorje battalion in during WW2 and the very friendly mountain huts at Sumik and Klopni vrh, where they serve the best sour milk ever!
Come on! Visit Rogla! :)
