On your way toward Šenk Homestead on the narrow road along a charming avenue, you will already get the feeling you are entering the land of fairy tales. I cannot point out exactly what is so magical about this place. Probably the history of the homestead itself, the wooden barns, countryside simplicity, and the wonderful owners, Polona and Drejc. They take care of preserving the architectural and ethnic heritage of their ancestors. You should really visit one of the oldest preserved farmhouses in Slovenia, which is a part of the homestead. Polona will be glad to tell you its story and groups can also arrange to have lunch in the garden or under the arched roof of the 500-year-old house.

There is a spacious meadow by the farm available for tents. Benches and an open fireplace are right next to it. Cute & clean bathroom facilities and a small kitchen with a shared fridge are in the nearby building. A barn is a cosy meeting place on rainy days and you can play table tennis there. For more comfort, book their absolutely beautiful rooms and apartments. You can also get their rich breakfast or dinner, mostly from their home-grown ingredients.

Around the house, you will find their dog Medo plus chickens, ducks, rabbits, and goats roaming free in the courtyard. They also have cows, pigs, and sheep.

You can rent mountain bikes, e-bikes and via-ferrata sets, or use the Finnish or IR sauna.

A real paradise for hikers, bikers, climbers & other fans of intact nature, and a great place for vacations outside the classic tourist centers.
