Starting point:
Kobarid

Description:
Head towards Tolmin from the center Kobarid. Soon (still in Kobarid), you come to a crossroad where a signpost to Svino village directs you to the right. Follow the low traffic asphalt road for about one kilometer. Then at a sharp left turn proceed straight along a dirt road. Before long, you reach Sužid village where you simply carry straight on. The path leads you past meadows to the main asphalt road. Go left there and follow the road to a large parking lot after Robič village. There, you will find a pub with sport fields and a lovely bathing area by Nadiža river, which is very crowded during the summer.

A cycling dirt road leads on the right side of the pub and follows the left river bank. Soon, you come to a footbridge over the river where you will spot a signpost for the gorges of Nadiža (‘Korita Nadiže’). You can leave your bikes here and explore the water pools above the bridge. The cycling path continues on the left Nadiža bank, but there is a short section where you will have to go on foot because it gets too narrow and too steep. Pretty soon, you are on a wider dirt road again and you follow it all the way to the campsite in Podbela village.

Behind the camp, you come onto an asphalt road. Go left there and you reach the interesting stone Napoleon Bridge in a few minutes. Once again, you will find magnificent water pools inviting you for a refreshing dip there. From there on, the road begins to ascend 'more seriously' and takes you to the village at the furthest west point of Slovenia – Robidišče. The otherwise tranquil village has recently become more active, mostly due to the cute tourist farm Robidišče, where you get served delicious home-made meals.

After the well-deserved lunch, you return to the marked crossroad slightly above Napoleon Bridge and turn left there (towards Logje). Descend to the bridge over Nadiža, where some more gorgeous bathing pools are hidden. From here you ascend steeply to the peculiar Logje village and onwards to Breginj. You get an amazing view on the grassy ridge of Kobariški Stol from that point. Do not forget to stop over in Breginj to visit the historical part of the village where you can discover the traditional architecture of the area.

A low traffic road from Breginj takes you to the Staro Selo village in a gentle descent. The world-class restaurant Hiša Franko is located there and then you return to Kobarid in the shade of the magnificent trees along the main road.
