Vogar is a handsome stretched out alpine meadow with lumpy meadows and numerous shepherd's cottages – nowadays pretty vacation houses. The main reasons to visit Vogar are: lying in the grass, an amazing view on Lake Bohinj or playing in the authentic nature with your kids. A delightful short trip near Lake Bohinj or a starting point for longer tours in the region - including Mt. Triglav.

In Ribčev Laz at Lake Bohinj turn to the right over a bridge in the direction of Stara Fužina. In Stara Fužina pay attention to the signposts which guide you to the left (Voje, Vogar) before a bridge over Mostnica stream. Carry on past the houses until you come to a large parking lot.
From the parking lot above Stara Fužina continue on the road for about 300 m until a hiking signpost directs you to the left towards Vogar alpine meadow. Ascend towards Vogar on a winding path in the shade of a beech forest. Just in front of Vogar meadow turn to the left, where there is a jump-off point for paragliders and a great view towards Lake Bohinj. Vogar meadow is very stretched out and actually consists of several meadows with cute little shepherd's houses - mostly rearranged into 'fairytale' vacation houses. There is also a mountain hut (Kosijev Dom), where you can get food and drinks. Ascent to Vogar meadow is a delightful trip on its own, and at the same time an excellent starting point for longer tours in the beautiful surroundings. You can also drive to Vogar by car. An option for a slightly steeper (unmarked) descent from Vogar into the valley is presented in the gpx file.
