A small, monolithic and vertical wall is situated in the immediate vicinity of Škofja Loka. Because it offers a peculiar type of climbing, certain climbers appreciate it greatly, but otherwise it does not exactly get mass visits.
How to get there:
We turn left in the direction of Žiri before the old town center of Škofja Loka. We drive across Sora river and through the town center, after approximately 2 km we turn left onto a large parking lot opposite the pub Pr’ Kajbit in Zminec village.
There are 2 minutes of walk in the direction of Žiri (along the main road) from the parking to the crag.
Best time for climbing:
From spring to autumn. During summer the wall is in shadow in the afternoon.
Orientation of the wall:
The wall is faced towards east.
Cars must be parked on the parking lot of the nearby inn (Pr' Kajbit) and NOT on the yard below the wall (private land!). Passing by the water storage tank on the left side of the wall is prohibited as well. For all routes that take place left from the storage tank it is necessary to climb and traverse along the ledge. Respect private property!
A specialty of this climbing area is an unusual, eruptive rock resembling rugged crag, that provides tremendous friction. It is being climbed on vertical plates with small handholds and even smaller footholds, where a good sense of accurate positioning of legs and climbing with friction is necessary.
