At first glance the homestead Koroš looks like a normal farm with a fantastic position and some breath-taking views. But when you become their guest, shake their hands and look into the eyes of your hosts: Suzana, Klara, Anej in Dixi you feel their positive energy, respect and love of nature and devotion to mountain biking. Welcome to the best bike hotel in Slovenia! Welcome to Koroška!
The Koroš farm lies on top of a hill, just a stone's throw away from the Austrian border and boasts a fantastic view of Mt. Peca and the surrounding hills. The accommodation is categorized as a hotel, but judging by the facilities, the environment and the homey atmosphere it feels more like a tourist farm. After all, there are almost 20 head of cattle on the farm!
Guests can choose among 10 comfortable double rooms, and for bigger groups additional beds are promptly arranged on the neighbouring farms. Of course you won't be hungry, either! Home-made breakfast and dinner are rich, organic and delicious, made from ingredients found on the local Eco farms or their own garden. The big courtyard is ideal for your toddlers or bigger children.
Mountain biking is a way of life and the true passion of Dixi and his son Anej. Near the farm they have even created their own single–trail park, which is constantly expanding with new trails of various difficulties. There are beautiful trails winding up among the blueberry bushes, technically more demanding and steeper descents, as well as flatter trails which lead us back on top to the farm.
This is just a small part of what north Slovenia offers to mountain bikers. In the surrounding area there are more than 1000 km of mountain biking trails, you can have some fun in the nearby bike park on the Austrian side of Mt. Peca or visit the abandoned mine tunnels by bike and explore the underground world of Mt. Peca. On the Koroš farm you can rent the outstanding full suspension bikes Specialized and even hire a guide, who will show you all the local secrets and organize an unforgettable MTB experience! Highly recommended!
This is a heaven for mountain bikers, but even those who don't cycle won't be bored! :)
