How to get there:
Kranjska Gora is located in the north-western edge of Slovenia, a stone's throw from Italy and Austria. The ski resort is elongated underneath the hillsides of Vitranc all the way from Kranjska Gora to Podkoren and almost to Rateče. We can access the ski slopes directly from the center of Kranjska Gora where most of the additional tourist infrastructure is located, or we can turn left on the road 'Kr. Gora – Rateče' in Podkoren village (the sign for 'Smučišče' is rather poorly visible) and we come directly underneath the race polygon. We can go further along the road towards Rateče where some easier slopes are located.

Ski resort description:
Kranjska Gora ski resort offers winter joys to beginners as well as excellent skiers. The best terrains for beginners are situated right on the edge of Kranjska Gora village which will be especially pleasant for all “non-skiers” who can watch their friends and family dealing with first turns on snow over coffee or stew. There is also a children’s park with a conveyor belt, a small sledding ground and a base of most ski schools and equipment rental shops.

For beginners the far west slopes in Podkoren with 3 lifts, one chairlift and a nice cafe 'Pehta' with a playground and sledding area are also appropriate for the youngest.

For more advanced skiers there is the Podkoren scarp where the best skiers in the world compete in slalom and giant-slalom every year. A couple dynamic runs on this slope will certainly tire you and send you off for a well-deserved refreshment on the “snow beach”.

The resort also has a snow park (in the far East of the ski slopes), night sledding trail (check if it is operating), and a peculiarity of Kranjska Gora: the Eskimo village right on the ski slope.

If there is enough snow, the subsidiary lifts in Mojstrana and Planica (right by the Olympic sports center) are operating as well. Kranjska Gora and its surroundings are a true winter paradise. Here everyone will find something for themselves: strolling, sledding, ice-skating, cross-country skiing, winter ascents on the giants of Julian Alps, ice climbing, partying, casino and more and more…

All information about the ski resort, Kranjska Gora and its surroundings can be found on the official website of the ski resort and on the website of Kranjska Gora’s tourist branches.
