WARNING: This hut is located on the desolate Jelje alpine meadow above Bohinj. At 1300 altitude meters it is situated at the doorstep of the highest Slovenian mountains. There are no shops, restaurants or nightclubs around. Just a few more cabins that used to belong to shepherds but have been renovated to accommodate visitors. The hut is fantastic, but we only recommend it to 'self sufficient' guests who truly enjoy in the intact nature.
The house is small and can only be rented during summer (normally from May to October). There is a small kitchen and a living/dining area on the ground floor. Two people can sleep on the sofa-bed and 4 more beds are located in the attic. There is a toilette inside, drinking tap water, bathroom, 12V electricity from solar panels. Of course, there is no internet connection. The nearest shop is 10min drive away.
Meadows and vast forests spread all around the hut. This is a wonderful place for all hikers, cyclers and mushroom pickers as well as for those who just want to relax in the shepherd’s fairytale. Young families will definitely love it here too.
