On a towering rock rising above the village of Vranja Peč used to be a nesting place for crowns (that is where the village name came from: Crown = Vrana); however, nowadays it is visited mostly by the fans of vertical walls. A delightful local climbing area offers good climbing across steep plates with some occasional moves in overhangs. The wall is perfectly equipped and the rock excellent. A wonderful view of Ljubljana basin and wider surroundings opens from the top.
How to get there:
If you arrive to Kamnik from Ljubljana, head towards Kamniška Bistrica on the first roundabout (by the shopping center Qlandia). Stay on the main road, you will pass a Petrol gas station and ca. 1.5 km after the gas station turn right (at a traffic light, direction health center). On the next crossroad keep right again and the road starts ascending. It will lead you through villages Zgornje and Spodnje Palovče and bring you to Vranja Peč after 7 km. Park the car at a parking lot next to a mortuary just by the entrance to the village and in direct vicinity of the wall (4-5 parking spots).
If you are coming from eastern Slovenia it is more convenient to drive through Tuhinjska valley (exit the motorway ‘Celje – Ljubljana’ in Vransko and go in direction of Motnik and Šmartno v Tuhinju). A few kilometers after Šmartno v Tuhinju turn left towards Velika Lašna. In 4.5 km you will reach Vranja Peč.

From the parking lot it is only 2 minutes on foot.
Best time for climbing:
From spring to autumn. It can be too hot in summer.
Orientation of the wall:
The wall faces south, southwest.
In this small yet pleasant climbing area vertical plates with rare handholds predominate. The right side of the wall has been equipped additionally and offers easier routes for beginners and less skilled climbers. In this part there are more handholds.
